About this object

Lila Eunice (Mawhinney) Smith wrote out her family history by hand, in blue ink, on blue-ruled loose-leaf paper with a red margin line. The pages are kept in a yellow “Jewel” theme book, which the family calls the Yellow Notebook.

The “Fish family” page begins: “In the order of settlement of Littleborough by families second to those of Thomas and Roger Stinchfield was that of Jirah Fish. From New Gloucester he came in the fall of 1780.” It goes on to say that Seth, his son, “was the second male child born in what is now Leeds.”

The notebook pages were scanned in 2012.
